ORRVILLE — Upcoming classes at Heartland Point, 200 N. Main St, in Orrville include:
All-Levels Yoga — Tuesdays through March 31, 5:45-6:45 p.m.
Vinyasa yoga is also referred to as flow yoga due to its relaxing, smooth, and flowing sequence of yoga poses. Your breath is the key factor in Vinyasa, as each movement is coordinated with an inhale or an exhale. Harnessing the breath with movement creates endurance in the body and a sense of meditation in the mind. All-levels classes are appropriate for beginners through advanced students to practice together. Instruction is offered during the class that is appropriate for where students are in their personal practice. Kristen Nussbaum, a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, will lead this 60-minute class each Tuesday. A package of seven can be purchased for $65, while a single session costs $10.
Introduction to Arduino — Wednesdays, March 11 and 25, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Want to learn what is at the core of a world run by technology? Whether it is smart homes, phones, or smart cars, they all utilize microprocessors. Join Schantz MakerSpace for an introductory look at a basic microprocessor known as the "Arduino." Participants can literally "control the world" when educated on the multiple ways microprocessors work. This two-session class will walk beginners through the components and programming language increasingly used in all sorts of everyday devices. A beginner’s kit with all the components you need will be provided. Participants must take their own laptop to each class. Cost to attend is $25.
Seasonal Painting — Thursday, March 12, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
By March, winter may feel like it’s never going to end. Make the most out of this season by painting a beautiful winter scene alongside Kristin Lorson. All skills levels are welcome and there is plenty of room for each participant to add their own style into their painting. All supplies are provided in the class cost, which is $40. All you need to take is a little enthusiasm, creativity, and a shirt that can get paint on it. This class is for ages 12 and older, unless accompanied by an adult.
Aging and Options — Thursday, March 19, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
How do I prepare for the inevitable? What choices do we really have? Does it always come down to money? How will I ever pay for this? Why did I wait so long? These are common questions people ask themselves as they age, especially when normal activities of daily living start to become a challenge. This program will provide insight on the truth about aging, the family’s role, choices available, how to pay for care options, Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits, and how to get a plan in place. Please join us for this informational presentation on aging, options, and how to be prepared for what lies ahead. Presented by Anthony Coleman, Certified Senior Advisor. There is no fee to attend this class.
