WATSON CLINIC

Watson Clinic Foundation’s Arts in Medicine program recently received a $500 community grant for its exceptional work within the community from Walmart Supercenter at 3501 S. Florida Ave. in Lakeland. The Watson Clinic Foundation’s Arts in Medicine program offers all forms of the expressive arts — including creative activities such as watercolor painting, origami, and mosaics, as well as offering daily musical performances — for cancer patients, caregivers and family members at the Watson Clinic Cancer & Research Center. Research shows that these creative outlets reduce anxiety, and create an environment that is more conducive to healing. The grant will be used to cover program expenses such as art supplies and the repair of the program’s donated piano. For more information on the Watson Clinic Foundation’s Arts in Medicine program, and to learn how you can volunteer or donate to their cause, visit WatsonClinic.com/AIM.
