MUSIC AND DANCING — There are many opportunities available in the area to do some dancing and enjoy some music at the same time. You can dance to the Vintage Country Band from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Shreve American Legion, Forest Post No. 67, 10094 Shreve Road. Or you can enjoy contra dance the same night from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Valley College Grange, 2411 Shreve Road, Wooster to celtic music by Pocketful O’Gimmick. And there’s square dancing at the Gnat Boxers Square Dance at Ida Sue School, 266 Oldman Road, Wooster, from 7:30-10 p.m. Feb. 1. If you want even more dancing, you can attend the Big Bands and All Jazz Society of Ashland’s special concert of the music of Frank Sinatra by Brian Michael Smith and the John Vermeulen Octet on Monday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ashland High School Little Theater.

GOLF AND ROCKS — Instead of traditional clubs and balls, participants will use tablets and Sphero robots for Sphero Mini Golf from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3 at the Wayne County Main Library in Wooster., 220 W. Liberty St. Registration for ages 8-13 is required by calling 330-262-0916 or visiting wcpl.info/events And instead of actually using rocks to learn about the rock cycle, participants of the 4 p.m. Feb. 3 Rockin’ the Rock Cycle at Dalton Branch Library, 127 S. Church St., will discover the three types of rock using Starburst candy. Registration for grades 4-6 is required by calling 330-828-8486 or visiting wcpl.info/events.

WINTER AND ART — The Wayne Center for the Arts will offer Charcoal Landscape Workshop at The Wilderness Center, 9877 Alabama Ave. SW, Wilmot, on Feb. 1. Participants will learn composition and techniques to create a winter landscape from start to finish, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. DINNER AND COMEDY — Enjoy dinner and a comedy show Friday, Jan. 31 at Landoll’s Mohican Castle, 561 Township Road 3352, Loudonville. The doors open at 6:15 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the comedy show runs from 7:30 to 9 p.m. For tickets, call (419) 994-3427 or visit landollsmohicancastle.com. Tickets are $29.99, plus tax and tip. Dinner will be a mixed greens salad with house-made Italian dressing, marinated chicken breast with marsala sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and the chef’s choice of vegetable. A full bar will be available. A vegan option is available by notifying the staff when your make your purchase.

STAMPS AND COINS — The Mid-Winter Stamp and Coin Show returns Saturday, Feb. 1 at Mozelle Hall on the Ashland County Fairgrounds, 2042 Claremont Ave., Ashland, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by Ashland Coin and Stamp Club. Ten dealers will offer coins, paper currency, stamps and supplies for collectors of all ages. There will be something for everyone, from the expert to the beginner. The United States Post Office booth will have all the current and most recent philatelic items for sale. A free gift will be available for all children in attendance ages 12 and younger.Admission and parking are free.
